Brandywine Springs Hash

On a nice, chilly and overcast afternoon that was just perfect for rapid locomotion on your footsies. About 25 hounds of the H4 met at the Brandywine Springs Park a couple miles from Price's Corner. Our hare, Cribsnatcher, laid about half a trail with the expectation that we'd all get lost. Yeah, right! That would have simplified things. He obviously plunged into this task with the perspicacity of a gnat, the thoughtfulness of a radish, and the energy of a contented cow. There was a beer stop, however, so all was forgiven. We pretty much tooled around in a shiggyless wooded area, played chicken with the high speed trains coming down the tracks, and absorbed some of the history connected with this park from the days when it was the site of an amusement park. No hassle with mud, bad rocks, and water crossings, but we did have a number of Checkpoints and Falsies to keep us on our toes. We were out for almost an hour until we got to the ON IN at the parking area. We had to be creative and do all this on our own since the hash marks were gone. In fact, they were never there since our hare ran out of time. It was getting cooler and with a threat of rain we moved quickly a short distance to Crib's house for the Apres. We circled up on the rear deck for Delinkwent to lead us in prayer as he snagged innocent hashers accused of various and sundry violations. Not only did Crib deep fry a turkey for us, but he also provided a humongous spread of edibles. Everything from dips 'n chips to ice cream pie—a variety too great to describe. It was great. Good beer, too.
