In the thunder, lightning, and rain, our confused hare, Tinsel Tits, rounded up the H4 hounds in the parking lot of the Wilmington Christian School, in Hockessin. The dark skies really opened up and dumped on us. A few PAW la chicken-hearted hashers sprouted umbrellas, but we mostly enjoyed the shower and cool breezes. With a quick circle-up to introduce a transplanted hariette, Thong, along with Himalaya's sneaky little brother, Mort and wife, Nancy, visiting from the great New England state of New Hamster, we proceeded to set new high standards for trespassing. As soon as we got on trail, the sun popped out and we were slogging through steamy jungle-like conditions where we were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow. We sallied forth over the fields covered by tall grass, wildflowers, stinging nettles, and poison ivy (Of course—what else would be new?). Holes and mud were in abundant supply over the meadows and through the mucky woods. Good shiggy! Lots of slimey trails with a fair number of Falsies and checkbacks to keep the FRB's in tow. After almost an hour on trail, including a totally missed beer stop because of flour spot washout, we streamed back into the ON IN at the parking lot. We circled-up for the religious services ineptly conducted by our RA, Delinkwent, who, in fine frenzied form, provided the Christian School venue with its first ever on-site beer baptismal rites. The hare, visitors, and assorted violators of any ilk or stripe, were treated to straight-arm down-downs. The Apres was al fresco and, luckily, the rains were gone. We enjoyed a fine buffet of D.I.Y. cold cut sandwiches, salads, and an excellent cake in dishonor of August birthday celebrants.
