| Hash Trash Run# 263 18 Dec. 1999 The Christmas Hash At 2 PM on a beautiful Saturday, about 35 hounds of the glorious H4 collected at Smedley Park in the heart of beautiful Delaware County just off exit 2 of the Blue Route. The final count of attendees at our annual Xmas Hash was about 45. The hares, Toxic Shock, Banged Up, Rosebutt, and Himalaya laid a grand circular trail that included a lovely residential area where we could trespass to our heart's content, some sections of shiggy, an obligatory culvert, and some real bad-ass hills. A welcome illegal beer stop at the ON IN revived the hounds as they proceeded to Himalaya's house for the Apres. The Xmas Apres was appropriately raucous. Down Downs for the hares and sundry other folk, too many idiots in the hot tub (including Santa BeeperClaus in full costume), all fueled by a mighty thirst that consumed many cases of good beer. Munchies and food were scarfed down before the Pollyanna gift exchange. A lot of really neat shit was passed back and forth as the alcoholic items were prized. Also, to the credit of the H4, a huge pile of toys for tots were brought. There was a downside to all this festivity, however, since everybody had to drink Akvavit (Danish fire-water), eat pickled herrings, and follow it all with a beer chaser. So, Happy New Year to all the noble hounds of the Grrrreat H4 !!! | |
