Hash Trash for Hockessin Hash #1180
So the slobbering pack met up at the pocket park on the corner of 14th and West Streets in the good old Place to Beat Somebody, Wilmington, DE for the urban assault hash on the slightly drizzly afternoon of March the 18th 2017 AD.
Hashers I remember being present at some point: Bunion Butt, Wet Lay, Asshopper, Mount Me, Devil Woman, Do Me on the Beach, Skidmarks, Lost Penis, Dead End, Slutmaster, Mary Fucking Poppins, Toxic Shock, Cousin It w/ Famous Jack, Magic Carpet Ride, Woody, Butthead, Just ... I forgot his name again ... maybe Carl? or was it John?, and many, many others.
Our hares of the day were the illustrious duo of Groper and Rack Attack.  As the start time was advertised for the usual minute of 4:18 pm a bunch of folks showed up around 4, except Asshopper who didn’t look at the memo closely, and showed up at 3.  And so we enjoyed a brew or two, while the dude we once knew as Camel Toe was moving furniture in or out of his house and made some slight acknowledgement to these people he hung out with one summer a while back.
Eventually the chalk talk commenced.  Our hares explained there would be a beer stop and a song stop.  Though the song stop was incorrectly spelled “S S” which usually stands for shot stop.  And with the arrow pointed the exact opposite way we needed to go we were off.
On! On!We ran around a corner or two coming across a check or three.  At some point we went on a bridge across the Brandywine, then went back across.  With Necro and Pube being out of town, Skidmarks took the helm of FRB for most of this and Butthead did what Butthead does, which is go off trail in search of people that he knew.  Our hare in the front was Groper who was running with everybody else giving away the right direction at almost every check instantaneously, while the hare in the back Rack Attack swept those in the back.
On! On! We went up hills and down hills until we reached the elusive “S S” on this sort of public patio thing for lack of a better term.  We sung some songs waiting for those in the back to catch up and a few of us decided to demonstrate our dancing skills a top the large marble cylinder in the middle of it.
On! On!Soon enough we were off again.  We ran through the middle of Rodney Square, as it was raining there were less the usual number of homeless people there, though the FRB’s complained bitterly about the lack of marks, which by the way were there, though one had to put a little bit of effort into seeing them.  Trail went to Market street and down that past the Opera house, until we came to the Beer Near at Chelsea’s tavern.   We enjoyed some brews for a while while watching Villanova blow the lead at the end of their second round appearance in the NCCA tournament.  Cousin It managed to sneak Famous Jack in there and got away with that for a few minutes before being asked to take the dog outside do to pesky board of health rules, and was there forth banished to the doorway.  After we enjoyed a beer or two we were off again.
On! On!We went down market street then took a left or a right or both, and at that point the pack seemed to break up.  With few actually following marks and most taking the way back which they felt was best.  Butthead and Magic Carpet Ride made their own double secret beer check by making an unannounced visit to the pad of some bloke they knew and didn’t make it back until almost the end of circle.
One by one by two we made it back to the pocket park with Skidmarks being the literal first in, but yours truly MFP being blamed for making back first of anybody who attempted to follow marks, since I am not as familiar with the neighborhood as some.
Our RA for the day Skidmarks circled us up.  Awards and Penalities were dished out.  Songs were song.  Down-Downs were done.  Our hares got more than there fair share of down-downs as Groper that day could not keep her mouth shut for long and called out all kinds of false accusations.  Butthead and Magic Carpet Ride got to drink for showing up last and racing each other into the end.  Many other wonderful people drank for many other wonderful things.
After circle we adjourned to the posh Nomad Bar where we enjoyed quite a great amount and variety of tasty grub. Included on the menu was corn-beef and cabbage, tasty meatballs, rice and beans, 3 varieties of sandwich wrap bites, Oreo cookie cupcakes and some strawberry type treats as we were permitted to enjoy this with a draft beer or two of our choice.  And some lively conversation was had.
But all and all it was another shitty trail.Stay tuned for Hockessin Hash #1181 this Saturday.
On! On!
