Hockessin HHH Hash Trash Run 532 20 November 2004 The Canby Park Hlash On this cool, gray Saturday afternoon (ideal for hashing, however) nearly 30 hounds of the H4 met at Canby Park in Wilmington. Our hares. Moustache Rider, JustFuckingTakelt, and Long Drip (newly renamed) were quivering with excitement as they waited to lead us astray. For a long while, we were cruising up and down the residential streets that had been marked with an ample number of Checkbacks and Falsies. After nearly an hour on trail (or off trail due to missed flour and chalk marks) we moved into a lovely spot by the creek for the beer stop (see photo). Eventually, after overcuming the law of physics, "Hashers at rest tend to stay at rest," we pushed on through Canby Park trails until the ON IN at the parking area. Not much shiggy, but lovely surroundings pretty much free of poison ivy, ticks, bees, and whatnot. We did get a sprinkling of rain, but not enough to put a damper on Delikwent's religious ceremony. After the down-down debauchery, we drove a short distance to Bernie's Saloon near the Wilmington RR Station. Lots of good pitchers of Yeunglings vitamin juice to wash down a nice spread of wings, quesadeas, shrimps, chicken strips, and nachos. Virgin hares did a commendable job. | |
