What: Hockessin Hash's 10th Analversary, Run #555
When: Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 3pm
Where: Parking Lot 2 in White Clay Creek Preserve in PA
Who: The one who started this mess, Cribsnatcher with help from Madhatter and Toxic Shock
Why: To commemorate that historic occasion, we're going old school - back to the site of the Hockessin Hash's very first run. So plan on cumming out and helping to celebrate 10 years of continuous hashing.
Why #2: Unusual for an H4 Hash, there's going to be 2 beer checks, and 3 different trails: a walker's trail, a turkey trail, and an eagle trail (remember t = tough and e = easy, wink). If you run in the Triple Crown from the morning, Crib has offered to pay your hash cash, so if you already run 22 miles, there's no excuse not to run a couple more.
Water = Wet shoes & socks: Everyone should bring a dry bag unless they like walking around in wet shoes.
D'erections:
From the Newark area and from I-95: Take Rt. 896 north. Follows the signs, bear right at the Deer Park and keep on going past the U of D towers. After a few miles you will leave Delaware go thru Maryland before you know it, and enter Pennsylvania. Less than 0.5 miles after crossing the state line, take a right on South Bank Road (if you miss it, simply take a right on the next London Tract it leads to the same place). After about a mile or so, you'll go down a steep hill and cum to a 3-way intersection. Veer rightish and take Sharpless road for ~200yds or so, and look for Parking Lot 2 on the right (if the lot is full, turnaround and park in the lot back near the 3-way).
Park and Hash.
From North Wilmington/PA: NOTE: a Bridge on Broad Run Rd is out. Unless you're familiar with the local roads, its probably easier to take I-95 to Rt. 896 and follow above. If you know how to get Broad Run, take Newark Rd north, left on Landenberg, right on Penn Green, left on Good Hope, and you should be able to take a right on London Tract. Follow London Tract signs to the 3-way noted above. Or if you around Limestone Rd (Rt. 7) and Rt. 72 intersection, take Rt. 72 towards Newark, right on Corner Ketch, quick left onto Pleasant Hill which turns into Hopkins Bridge, turn right on Rt. 896 north and see above.
