Saturday, Feb 24, 3PM, Newark, near the intersection of Paper Mill Rd
(Rt. 72) and Cleveland Ave
What to expect: New trail in Newark (well, a super majority of it, I
promise). A Mardi Gras theme apres that won't come close to making
you feel like you're in the Big Easy, but it will have authentic
cajun food -- like gumbo, jambalaya, and pralines -- beer,
hurricanes (that will come close to being as good as a Pat O'Brien's
hurricane, maybe better), zydeco music, beads, and if we're lucky, as
is traditionally done in N'Awlins, beads will only be exchanged by
exposing breasts and other relevant body parts.
What to bring: Mardi Gras beads and other such paraphernalia. If
you're so inclined and motivated, you could also dress in purple,
gold, and green which are the semi-official Mardi Gras colors.
D'ERECTIONS: Take I-95 to the 896 North exit. The exit brings you
onto 896 North, which is South College Ave, stay on S. College until
the 9th light (I think, its also about 2.5 miles). Take a right onto
Delaware Ave. Go to the 2nd traffic light and take a left (there is a
Burger King there). Go to past the 2nd light (Cleveland Ave) and the
roads turns into Rt. 72, Paper Mill Rd. As you're going down the
hill, there is a little parking area before the bridge (which goes
over the White Clay Creek) on your left. Pull in, park, and hash.
Overflow parking is available at the new construction area across the
street.
